Playful experimentation is at the heart of what we are trying to achieve with the box — the urban canvas deck engages users of all ages with smart, funny and challenging ideas that help them to discover and share stories about their neighbourhoods, and decide together what matters.

The A-Z deck of 30 cards enables users to learn about key urban themes that range from gentrification to public space, and affordable housing to obesity. Playing around with the deck offers a first step towards reaching consensus on how to strengthen the best of their community.

Each set includes a blank deck that will allow users to create their own cards using language and ideas that are specific to their context. This flexibility encourages dynamic exploration, meaning the deck will evolve into a living collection of unique ideas.
